Guidelines for entry
1 All work should be submitted using the submit button powered
by SUBMITTABLE on Willowdown Books website, The
Poetic Bond website, or elsewhere.
2 All poems and short stories submitted, for which the
submission process has been completed, will be considered for inclusion in an
anthology to be named “Looking In Looking Out”
3 You can submit four poems or one short story. All poems must
be the authors’ own work: unpublished work is welcome, work previously
published online is allowed, and any work previously published can be
submitted, if it is properly cited,and
subject paragraph 4.
4 Authors are responsible for informing Willowdown
Books of any licenses or conditions they may have assigned to third parties;
any dispute that may arise is solely a matter for the author and the third
party.
5 Copyright remains with the author and authors of all poems and
short stories selected will be asked to agree to the copyright notice below

6 The no specific theme to the competition by for guidance, just
take the title as your prompt. Poems can be in any form or style.
7 Poems can up to 60 lines, while storeis
should be no less than 1,000 words and no more than 3,000. (Title or stanza
breaks are not included).
8 The decisions of the panel and the editor to select poem(s)
and short stories for the anthology is final and no correspondence will be
entered into save for notification of whether the work is to be included in the
anthology.
9 Copyright of individual work remains with
the author at all times
10 Successful entries will be published in paperback on or after
31st July 2011. The closing date for the competition is 12 April, 2023.
11 There will be two prizes, one awarded for a poem, and one for
a short story. Both prizes will be $100.
12 Copyright Notice Should my poem(s) or short story be
selected, I, as author of the work, agree to give Willowdown
Books permission to publish my poem(s) within the anthologies known as
"Looking In Looking Out" (2023), in any
media, and to use my name and work in any marketing or promotional activity
which pertains to the marketing and promotion of said anthology. Books agree
that they cannot print or use any other media to publish any poem from the
anthology individually, except with the express permission of the author. The
following, or equivalent, will appear in the anthology; Willowdown
Books asserts its copyright of this book as an anthology, by which is meant the
collection of poems and short stories. Willowdown
Books asserts no copyright over any of the individual poems or short stories.
Copyright is asserted (by both Willowdown Books and
the individual authors) under the Copyright Laws of the British Commonwealth of
Nations, the United States of America and all the countries of the Berne and
Universal Copyright Conventions. All rights, including Stage, Motion Picture,
Television, Public Reading, Translation into foreign language, any Internet or
related media is strictly reserved (by the author, or Willowdown
Books as detailed above).
