Over five million people have died during the Covid-19 Pandemic
but in 2022, we have hope …
Vaccines have been developed and the rate of vaccination in the world is in increasing.
The virus has mutated to a more transmission but less deadly strain.
COVID-19 STILL KILLS, with those who remain unvaccinated particularly at risk.
Poems from the Lockdown 2.022 will be a follow-up anthology
to the bestselling volume Poems from the Lockdown, which featured 146 poems from 115 poets across the world
The submission window opens 12 Jan 2022 and closes 2 Apr 2022
Submissions should reflect the following themes
What is your experience of the last two years of the Global Pandemic?
How has it affected you? How is it affecting you now? What are you hopes and/or fears for 2022?
Poetry is the very soul of humanity, part of our core of expression, a mode of communication, socialize, civilization;
it a way to show our love and empathy for our fellow human beings
As well as the new anthology,
twelve of the poems will be added to the original anthology in an additional chapter entitled 2022
There is a $250 first prize, and five runners-up will receive an award of $12.
The judge is the managing editor of Willowdown Books, Trevor Maynard,
his latest poetry collection PARADOX is available on Amazon and elsewhere.
